Well, I did it! I finished all of the redwork for the custom tree skirt. The only hang up now, is that my mother (& my partner in crime when it comes to putting these pieces into quilts & things) is laid up with a
broken ankle. But my part is complete. & done in time to have successfully completed the
UFO finish-along!

I have to say, that I really dig redwork with a touch of turquoise. It came out wicked cool as snowflakes. Can't wait to see the whole tree skirt together & underneath Heather's tree next Christmas!
Oh! & a huge "Thank you" to Vicki of the
GYB party & all my new followers!
Gorgeous pieces

Thanks! I love them, but I'm glad to be finished.
DeleteHello I'm one of your new followers from GYB. Oh my Giddy Aunt your poor mother and her broken ankle, that sounds like a terrible fall. I know all about your snow as my daughter is studying in NY. I really hope that your partner in crime can manage some embroidery soon.

She's tackling some candlewicking right now. It the sewing machine that she is really missing though.
DeleteThat is so gorgeous! I especially love that bird with the blue snowflakes, you did an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteThe turquoise is supposed to help tie the redwork in with the other fabrics to be used. I can't wait to see it all together.
DeleteYou did a beautiful job on the panels. It is going to be so pretty under the tree!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn. I hope the finished project looks as great as I think it will.
DeleteYes, that combination is gorgeous. Beautiful work! :) Tammy
